Cineversity Live September 9th 2009

Well after a very successful launch week of not only Release 11.5 and the Broadcast Edition, but of course Cineversity Live, we’ve decided to get rolling immediately with another session which will be Today at 11am PDT. I believe Rick will be helping me host a session as we look at some of the new tutorials being released for Cineversity this week covering new MoDynamic features. We’ll also have some news on some interesting things to see out in the community, but most importantly we’ll be able to answer your questions and maybe try out a few things people would like to see or understand. While we always want to have some planned news and content what we really want to focus these sessions on is trying to address user questions.

I’ve also made Cineversity a permanent part of the Kai the Stuff Guy Blog, which you can now find using the furthest tab to the right up top, or just bookmark this easy link:http://kaithestuffguy.com/cineversity-live/

Cineversity Goes Live!

Make sure to be here at 2pm PST today to see a live QA with Cineversity where you can ask your own questions about Release 11.5 and the Broadcast edition. I’ll be a host of course.

If you can’t make it, no worries we’ll be doing at least one more Thursday morning at 11am PST, so clear your schedule think up some questions ahead of time post them here tweet them to me or @maxon3d or just bring them with you to the QA and take your chances that we will be able to answer them for you. Cineversity Live will also be streaming our Siggraph 2009 presentations so you can see what you might have missed if you couldn’t make it to New Orleans.

Ahh and why not lets play with a little MoDynamics right:

MAXON and EA at GDC

GDC is this week, and while MAXON does not have a booth again this year, Kris Orpilla from EA Sims Division will be doing a session sponsored by MAXON. I will be there as well to help Kris out and pay a visit to the EA Redwood Studio. If your going to be At GDC or in the area on Friday March 27th, I highly recommend getting a pass for this session. I know I’m excited to see how they are using BodyPaint 3D.

Real World Texture Painting Tips for Game Developers
Kris Orpilla (Character Artist, Electronic Arts)
10:30am – 11:30am Friday, March 27, 2009
Room 2000, West Hall, Moscone Center, San Francisco
Session Sponsored by MAXON Computer Inc

Session Description
Kris will reveal inhouse workflow from EA’s Sims Division, demonstrating how to create custom 3D textures – from reference material to hand-painted detail for next- and current-gen games. Using MAXON BodyPaint 3D he will reveal workflows used in house to quickly generate in-game assets such as those deployed on Sims Animals and other leading game titles, attendees will also learn how BodyPaint 3D easily integrates into current Photoshop, Maya, Softimage and/or 3dsmax workflows.
