Glen Keane is just one of those animators, as a Kid, one didn’t pay attention to who wrote or directed or animated movies, and yet names like his and Andreas Deja, that just kept showing up in the credits for my favorite characters growing up. He may not be one of the Nine old men, but he was very fortunate to come in and learn from them and take over as their reign ended and much like a lot of Richard Williams Stories from Milt Kahl and Ken Harris, is where you can really relate to them just as I look up them and my mentors both at VFS and now at Animation Mentor . Its what helps bring them a little off that pedestal and more down to reality. And hearing and seeing that passion in others just makes one want to animate even more.
There is a lot of great stuff on the web about Glen Keane, on the right I’ve a link to Raul Andres blog dedicated to the Art of Glen Keane, but Check out this 14 part lecture of Glen. It is pure gold.
